“Mexican Rodeo or “Charreada” Latino Celebration
Sunday, Aug. 28, 3pm-6:30pm, Main Arena. The Charro exhibition will be showcasing traditional events in Mexican rodeo or “Charreada.” Events evolved from activities of ranchers working livestock dating back over 100 years. Along with the elegant style of dress; the proficiency with their horses and fancy rope work, sets it apart from traditional rodeo. Along with the Charros the ladies (Escaramuzas) will also take stage. The Escaramuza competition involves a team of 8 ladies, riding side saddle, working a complicated and dangerous routine. They will be judged on execution, timing, and overall performance. A must see!
